Welcome to the website of the Town of Garfield in Jackson County, Wisconsin
Picture of the garbage that the Schintgen children along with Griff Chumas picked up along Sand Lane Road in just one mile recently
Thanks to some great kids for using their time and energy and caring enough to help make our area look nice!!
Town Board meetings and elections are held at the new meeting room on Hillcrest Road just off of County B, around the corner from the old town hall. The meeting room (town hall) is located on the north end of the new town shop building -- if you have not attended a town meeting in a while, please attend one - they are normally held the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted.
Sand Mining Issue -- At the present time there is a Frac Sand Mining issue before the Town Board and the Plan Commission - check the 'Notices' section and also the posting boards at the hall, recycling center, or clerk's office door for meeting dates and times if you are interested. The Town Board and the Town of Garfield Plan Commission as well as other interested citizens worked very hard to pass a Non-Metallic Mining Ordinance which is shown in the ORDINANCES section of this website. Residents and members who worked on it feel it is a workable ordinance for all concerned. If you have questions, contact a town board member or a Plan Commission member. Check the "Town Contacts" section for contact information
